Trust is key!

Trust is a foundational pillar of any relationship. Many choose to hire, partner with, and collaborate only with individuals that they know, like, and trust.

Each profession has characteristics that advance the depth of a relationship between a professional service and a client/prospect. If a business wants to stand tall above a crowded room of competition, then a business needs to have a unique purpose, culture, structure, and value proposition.

What does that unique nature look like? For HFS, it starts with having a purpose. A purpose is your overarching set of goals, morals, and ethics that drive you to get out of bed in the morning; it can be family, faith, your reason for starting a business, etc. It can also be the lifestyle that you want to live, and the legacy that you want to leave behind to your loved ones. Knowing your purpose is of immense value. A clearly defined purpose allows you to create goals, both short term and long term, in pursuit of fulfilling your purpose.

What other key attributes do you hold most dear in defining the optimal relationship for you and your loved ones, especially in the financial advisory industry?

  3. Keeps my interests in focus with unbiased advice
  4. Has a clear fee structure so I know what I’m paying for
  5. Presents themselves in a professional manner
  6. Communicates and explains financial concepts well
  7. Can help me maximize my returns (tax efficient/savvy returns, societal returns, moral returns, investment returns, etc.)
  8. Has a good reputation and positive reviews
  9. Works with me to hone in on my purpose(s)
  10. Helps me reach my financial goals
  11. Acts as a ‘partner’ alongside of my loved ones through life’s journey
  12. Has the relevant skills and knowledge
  13. Is proactive in nature
  14. Is knowledgeable on tax consequences of investing
  15. Acts as a coach/mentor to keep me on track
  16. Understands me and my unique needs
  17. Uses up-to-date technology
  18. Helps me stay in control of my emotions

Clients with the confidence to define and prioritize goals, plan a strategy, and then take actions that improve their outcomes create a strong level of alignment that can keep them on course, and in continual pursuit of fulfilling your purpose, no matter where life’s journey takes them.
